Hi everyone,

I'm doing a 60th birthday cake for my friend's mother. She is really into dolphins so I'm doing gumpaste dolphins on the top. I figured I'd do an ocean cake (2 tier) and I have choc molds for starfish, crabs, shells, etc that I can scatter about. I'm also using this mold:

Upside down, this gives a wave effect and I love it for this cake. I'd be wrapping it around the bottom of the 1st tier (maybe even the top tier) My question is this: my friend just now tells me that the color scheme for the party is lavender???? Besides making some shells and coral lavender, how could I add more of that color? Would it look silly to do a blue wave with purple luster dust shimmered on it to add that purple touch...

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much![/url]

I like the idea of the purple lustre dust on the blue wave. I think it would look great and not too over-the-top.
