I often use Wiltons Fondant, I know the taste isn't great but it has a perfect texture to make flowers & any othere cupcake toppers.

Someone recomended Satin Ice saying it tastes better, it sure does but its texture is driving me crazy... way to sticky I cant get a flower to hold, or out of the mold icon_cry.gif

I tried adding some cornstarch & using shortning while working with it but it is WAY too thin, its immposible icon_confused.gif

Anyone know what I should do lol I bought 2 huge buckets & I do not make cakes icon_confused.gif ... Please helpppp!

I just add powdered sugar and use minimal shortening....also let it sit for 10 minutes after rolling it out to let it set a little I do that when I make anemone flowers

For your next cake try Pettinice. I find it much easier to work with than Satin ice and it tastes better too. Satin ice smells like playdoh. I only use it when I need black fondant.

I wish that was possible I live in a small town & I have to travel 4 hrs to get my supplies... even the stores I know dont carry Pettinice fondant icon_confused.gif . Thanks for your suggestion though thumbs_up.gif

I have a store about 45 min. away that carries it but it's expensive. I just ordered it online from NY Cake. They are only a 1 1/2 hr train ride from me but shipping was less expensive than a train ride in ($20), so I ordered it. Plus it was much cheaper than my local shop. I don't know if other places have it cheaper online but you can look. Shipping has to cost less than a 4 hr trip. Good luck.
