I want to make the Doctor's bag cake from the colette's birthday cakes book, but I don't understand the cutting instructions. Can anybody help me out with this?

Thanks

Which cutting part? The cake into a bag shape or cutting fondant pieces for the bag?

The instructions say to bake (3) 13 X 9" cakes, stack and filling. Then cut them down to 12" X 5 1/2" the bottom part of the bag should be 3 3/4" tall, and the top should be 3 4/4: tall, and the top length is suppose to be 8" long. It's all so confusing.

What I think is suppose to happen is when you cut the cake down, you stack the pieces on top?

I think you're suppose to stack them of top of one another and then carve it into the bag shape and you should end up with the final dimensions that they stated.

Do they have a pic of what it looks like?
