I was wondering what's the best cake to make when using fondant?? (I've heard pound cake works well) I cheated and made a cake mix cake... but it was super moist and sagged a bit under the weight of the fondant..
so anyone have any interesting ideas i can try out for next time?? I want something that's a bit moist and tasty too

Any cake really should be fine. I would venture a guess that the cake sagging had little to do with the weight of the fondant, unless you rolled it super thick. Was the cake completely cooled/leveled/settled before you covered it in fondant?
i have just made a citrus cake and covered it. it worked really well. u must let it cool completly before covering. also try using cooled boiled jam to fix under ur fondant xx
