Can anyone tell me if this is a standard yellow or golden yellow.

To me it looks like a golden/lemon yellow mix with orange airbrush. As for the bamboo, I would just make long ropes of fondant and put little cut marks here and there and then paint it with alcohol-thinned brown color. HTH!
