Hello,
A friend of my niece would like me to make a Nintendo cake for her wedding (grooms cake). The plan is to make it the same size as a Nintendo, with a gum paste controller, game, etc. I have no idea where to begin on a price for this. She wants one price if the cake is fondant and another if I use buttercream. I believe this gal is in her early 20s and just starting out. She learned of my cake abilities from my niece so I want to be fair on the price. This isn't one of those situations where I can charge by the serving. If anyone could please give me some sort of idea for each of the types of cake I would really appreciate it. I know it varies, but I have no idea whatsoever to charge. Thanks!

figure out how much ingredients/supplies will cost, and how long it will take you to make it. that will give you a ballpark on what to charge.
