I'm going to be making a cake in a couple weeks for a baby shower that's outside in SW Florida.... at the end of June. icon_eek.gif I'm scared that the whole thing might melt. What would be the best frosting or fondant? Should I do all buttercream or is there something better? Is fondant okay in warm weather? Please help!

My icing works in extreme heat and humidity:

Here's a thread where a CCer did an outdoor test on my icing:

Thank you so much, indydebi! I really appreciate your reply. Looks like a great recipe. Do you know if it's okay to also cover it in fondant? Does fondant hold up well in heat? I've primarily used homemade marshmallow fondant, but I think I'll be trying Michele Foster's fondant. I made some a couple days ago and haven't used it yet, but it looks very promising. Thanks again!

it's the only icing i use (except for the hershey's choc icing on the side of the can, when I need a choc icing). have used it under fondant with no problems at all.

My problem is that I can't buy dream whip where I live (Paris), is there any substitute? I've tried looking it up but have found conflicting answers. I can get Rich's whip or coffee creamer, are these any good?
