I need to cover a piece of cardboard for the top of a graduation cap with black fondant. How do I get the cornstarch off of the black fondant after I get it attatched?

Softly brush off what you can, then rub crisco over the whole thing.

I sometimes use cocoa powder to roll out black or chocolate fondant so it doesnt stand out like the flour/corn starch does.

Never had a problem

I either steam my cake, if I want a shine or use Everclear and wipe it down with that, if I don't want a shine. icon_smile.gif

Don't roll the black paste out on CS. Just roll it out on shortening. No cleanup necessary.
