I am having such a hard time with my Cricut Cake. I am almost ready to give up!!!!
I tried putting my fondant in the freezer but it just gets all shiny and gooey. What do I do about this?
I have never actually gotten my machine to cut out anything properly. I feel like my $400 is gone to waste!

Have you tried using gum paste instead?

I did not have good luck with fondant either. I use gum paste only now. I took a class last summer from Carrie Biggers and she says to roll out your gum paste on your mat at least a day ahead of time and let it sort of dry out. Older gum paste is best because it is already a bit dry. If you have several mats then roll them all in gum paste and cover them and let them age. I tried it and it works very well. You can make gum paste out of your fondant by adding gum trag or tylose, but you probably already know that. Good luck. The Cricut does work great once you learn the tricks.
