Hello Im new to this forum and to cake decorating itself. My question is... I have the cake cricut, and downloaded the sure cuts a lot trial version. But I do not see once you have an image how you choose to cut it on your cake cricut. It says to choose your cutter in the program but it is not one of the options. Does anyone know what to do. Thanks
There was/is a lawsuit and the programs aren't compatiable anymore. Your options are to either use cricut software exclusively or buy a different cutter.
It depends on the version of SCAL and what uploads you've done. Mine does not have a cake option so, if I remember correctly, I select the Expression and it cuts just fine.
The lawsuit, to my knowledge, hasn't been settled or decided yet. However, please research this on your own. I purchased SCAL2 a couple of months ago- the same week that MTC settled with Provocraft- and it works just fine. I know I can never update it, but it serves my purposes. On the SCAL site, I would think you'll be fine as long as they still advertise that it works with Cricut. I do suggest you purchase the disc instead of the download. If your computer every crashes and you need to reinstall it, I'm not sure you'll be able to get the same version and thus still be able to use it with Cricut.
I'm new to the cricut cake. I purchased SCAL years ago and just recently purchased a cricut cake. SCAL works great with my Cricut Expression, but when I try to cut a design with the Cricut Cake is starts to do the cut then stops. I've tried doing it using both options, Cricut Cake and Cricut Expression same thing happens with both. Any suggestions?
I would guess that your Cake machine has newer software in it that blocks the use of SCAL. Most of us who are still using SCAL with our Cricut machines have made sure that we don't update our software, as by all accounts once you do this SCAL will not work.
The Cricut Cake is Version 2.31, SCAL starts to cut then stops. Not sure how to fix it.
