Well i made my first WASC using the "original" recipe. However I feel it had a weird texture, not smooth like most cake feels when you eat it. Kinda of "grainy" I think is the best way to describe it. Maybe I over cooked, otherwise I'm not sure.

Has anyone else had this problem or know what I can do it prevent this from happening because I LOVE the taste!!

Sounds like a mixing problem...

I've made both Rebecca Sutterby's and kakeladi's original WASC recipes and have found their texture to be great (not too light/not too dense).

Did you eat it right away? The WASC to me is one of those cakes that is better the next day or so.

Do you normally make straight/doctored mixes? If not then that coudl be why. I don't like the texture of the WASC cake either but it's because I much prefer scratch made cakes. It could just be a case of it not being the recipe for you.
