I have a request to make a viking long boat cake.

I have several ideas about the cake itself but i need help on how make the Stem and Stern as they should be taller than the cake itself. Any ideas???

Is it something like this? I can only find that most of them have a head on the front! Hope these help you see better. I've never made one.
