Hello I need help please! I have a friend and I volunteer to make her birthday cake. She wants a classic Volkswagen beetle cake. I have looked online and looked on here but can not really find explanation. What size cakes would I use for this? I saw a video on youtube for a convertible and they used 9x13 and stood up on it's side, but she doesn't want a convertible so could a use a round cake on top of that. Any help would be appreciated. Oh also she would like all buttercream and some fondant accents if I have to.

Why don't you use the Wilton 3D car pan - it makes a few different cars, including a cute bug. You can get it for very cheap at Michael's with the 40% off weekly coupon:

I agree- the Wilton pan is pretty close to the look you want.
