hi , i am just wondering if anyone uses buttercream instead of royal icing to pipe details and borders onto a cake that is covered in fondant... and if so have their been any problems associated with doint it and what would be the best recipe for bc to do this..??????? thanks

I just posted a baby shower pic that I did in fondant with buttercream borders, I had no problems. As for the buttercream recipe I would think you could use any buttercream but I use the buttercream dream recipe I got from this site. Hope that helps!

you can use fondant and buttercream together. Most of us use bc under fondant, too. Also you can use fondant accents on bc, so you should be just fine!
