So my boyfriend made a caddy wampus type stand for a cake that I have due on May 14th but I want to do a trial run before I make the actual cake just to make sure that it can handle the weight distribution, but I'm not sure how to do it without baking a ton of cakes first.

The design is a total of 9 cakes throughout the stand and I want to avoid baking 9 of them just as a test.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can test it without baking my little heart out?

Can you fill the cake pans with water, or with uncooked rice? Just to get a feel for the cake stand?

Thats a really good idea - but I run into a problem because there's a pole going straight thru the stand. It would work really well with bundt pans though... great idea! Maybe I'll give that a try if I can round up some bundt pans!

Can you tell me what materials your boyfriend used to make the caddy wampus stand?
