I'm making a bunch of magnolias. I'm wondering if there's a reason why you can't attach the petals and the center together with melted chocolate, like you would a gumpaste bow? I dislike all the wires and I'm making dozens of these things for cake toppers. It seems like I could plop down some white chocolate (I'd probably dye it green like the leaves), stick the bottom four petals in, then put down a little saran wrap 'donut', lay the next layer of petals on that (also sticking the ends in the chocolate), repeat, then lay the center on it to finish. Thoughts?

I have done that before... I made a white Hibiscus Flower (quite large too) and used melted white chocolate to hold it all together and it worked wonderfully!
