Ok, everyone I made a topsy turvey candy themed cake. I placed a gp bear and lollipops on the top tier and by the time the cake arrived at the venue the whole side had crumbled. I'm thinking that because it was a chocolate buttercream cake it was to soft. Also, it was a summer. Any suggestions?

gumpaste is also quite heavy for it's size.

How did you support the bear and lollipops?

You'd get a better diagnosis, if you'd post an "after" photo.

I'd bet it crumbled in line with the lollipop sticks. I don't know how many sticks were inserted into the cake, but if it was an abundance, your cake would crack along those perforated holes.
