I have been making cake balls for several months now and had no problem other than operator error! Now my chocolate is cracking after dipping. I am using the same technique - melting in microwave, adding shortening and stirring well. The chocolate is nice, smooth and covers well - only to crack as it dries. Help - any suggestions?
could be your pops are too cold, or the chocolate is too warm
I agree with motherofgrace. That's usually what causes the cracking.
I let my chocolate setting for a few minutes before using. HTHs
