Peeps are a IMO nasty little marshmallow, shaped like a little duck and covered with sugar. Way too much sugar for my tastes.
Some people LOVE them...

http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/

Originally they were only out at Easter in bunny and chick shapes. Now they have them for nearly every holiday. I don't particularly like them, I like marshmallows, but the sugar coating on them does something to the taste of the marshmallow (I think).

Thank you all. CWR41 love the pictures - especially the peeps on the plane wings.

Marshmallow Peeps taste best when you buy them, poke a hole in the cellophane, then wait a few days before you eat them. They get hard and chewy. Delicious.
As much as I love Peeps, I think the new "Peepsters" are awful. They are chocolate covered marshmallow lumps, but the chocolate is probably the nastiest I've ever tasted. They could have done much better with the new product.

OP, if you search on Cake Central for "Marshmallow Peeps", you will see many different types of Peeps on cakes.

That's exactly the method of preparation I used. shhh.gif
Makes you wonder how many people actually eat them fresh/soft.... icon_lol.gif

(Can't eat them now, too sweet!) tapedshut.gif

They also have sugar-free peeps.

Last year my daughter and her friends dipped peeps in chocolate. After Easter, she liked making s'mores with them.

Me! I can only eat Peeps when they are fresh and soft. If they are even a little bit hard I can't eat them. I even poke them through the cellophane to make sure they are soft enough before I buy them.
