I have to make this cake this weekend, but I'm not sure how to make it. It looks like a turtle which I have made before, but this one is different. It has to feed ~30people. The pan I used to make my turtle cake was a bunt pan, so it wasn't that big. Please help.

Can you set your turtle bundt cake pan on another layer and make it look like the ground? Just a thought.

Depends, you could make it like sewsweet2 recommended, that would be the easiest way to do it.

If not you need to determine your structure requirements. I would have the body base carved out of plywood and covered. The legs I would measure and use dowels.
Cover the dowels in modelling chocolate.

I would use 3 11x 15 and start carving and shaping. Cover in fondant, add the features I need and airbrush and/or hand paint.

For the tree I would make a wire structure, cover with the colored modelling chocolate I needed and add to the cake.
This could be a really cool cake.
