Zebra Cake On The Inside?

My DD's sweet 16 in next week & she wanted the inside of her cake to be zebra striped. I am thinking of white cake mix with chocolate (dyed black) streaked through it. But I can't figure in my head if it will work when it is cut? Anyone had any luck at this? TIA!

I'll post pics of the cake itself once it's been cut. Hopefully it will look as good as the pics the had. Thanks again!
