Help Please - Baking Cakes?

i make lovely cakes but sometimes the cakes dont cook completely. when i sticl my knife in, it comes out dry but when i cut open the cake it still looks wet. h-e-l-p

Check out your baking powder. This happened to me and the problem was that my baking powder was old and had lost its oomph. Since the cake didn't rise right, it still looked like raw dough, even though it wasn't.

What types of cake are you baking when this happens?

Fudge brownies are wet looking when completely baked, is this what you're talking about.

Thanks Marianna46 & JanH for your replies, i asked around and found out my oven probably wasnt hot enough. the cakes are sponge cakes
