I plan to do a carved dress form cake. If I use boards under the layers for support then I am suppossing that I need to cut them smaller than the cake layer so that I do not carve into them.

How much smaller will be a good size to cut the boards and should I just use cardboard (single or double layer), or something more sturdy like foamcore?

What is best to attach layers, RI or BC?

I plan to use plastic dowel rods for support also inside the cakes, should I use a central support as well?

Will plastic dowel rods be enough to support a RKT torso (the skirt being cake?

I know it is a lot of questions but if anyone can help I would truly appreciate it. I have been asking for help withthis for a while now and time is running out. icon_confused.gif

I think if you look in the 'articles' section on here there are instructions for a dress cake.
