Hi All!

I have lurked for a little while now and want to thank you all for your help, hints and tips.

I have a question about luster dust on cakes. I have seen beautiful pictures of cakes with details in many different colors and they are all shimmery. For example I saw one with a pillow with a tiara on it. The pillow was made up of diamonds of pink and lavender all of which was pearly looking. How is this done?

I am guessing that just one color of luster dust is airbrushed over the whole thing? Am I right? If so what color/ shade of dust is the best to use and does anyone have a good place to purchase online?

Thanks in advance and happy caking!! icon_smile.gif

If you just want the shimmer look that go over any color, then you want pearl dusts. Super pearl is the one that is white with no undertones.

If you don't have an airbrush you can get the pearl dusts, mix with extract/vodka, and paint on icon_smile.gif
