has anyone tried dipping cupcakes in candy melts, would you get the same effect as dipping it in poured fondant?

it would probably be a bit harder to smooth it, so it might not be as smooth as fondant, but i have never really tried. I might try to experiment with a few. Tell me how it turns out!
