I need to make my first cake using a dummy as the top tier. I've done some reading on here about icing a dummy. Where do I even buy them? Any tips? It's a wedding cake for a small party so she wants a 3 tier cake but only need 2 tiers of actual cake. Funny, I've always done orders with all REAL cake! Thanks!

Ha! I just got my most recent Global order on Monday! They should have a "frequent user" club! Thanks!

Check prices of the dummy plus shipping. Unless it is really inexpensive it might be cheaper to make it in real cake.

I just buy foam rounds from a craft store or get a sheet of foam from a home improvement store and cut what I need. The sheet is the most cost effective, but maybe not worth the effort to cut it, I have a hot wire tool made just for cutting foam for cakes and I love it!

Check ebay. There are usually quite a few vendors that post there regularly.
