I'm making a cake for my MIL, and she requested Bavarian Cream as frosting. I am leaning towards using a whipped cream frosting instead, as I'm not sure a true Bavarian Cream would hold up as a frosting. Any tips?

I would recommend layering the cake and using the Bavarian Creme as a filler, then covering in ganache. I'm new at making cakes, though.

Thanks for your input. I'm actually filling it with Raspberry Bavarian Cream, and I did suggest Ganache, but she didn't want it too chocolatey.

Why don't you suggest a white chocolate ganache. Not very chocolaty and pairs perfectly with raspberry.
