My nephew just got a new kitten. I would like to surprise him with a small cake or cupcakes to celebrate.

Any ideas? I saw some adorable Yorkshire terrier cupcakes, but those would be perfect for a new puppy obviously!

Any ideas? I'm open to anything.

You could make fondant toppers of things a kitten would like. Ball of yarn, mouse, fish (or fish bones), bottle of milk, etc.

There are also lots of cat cupcakes in the gallery and google images that you can use for inspiration.

Try this link.

That is such a cute idea. You could do something like a welcome baby cake with argyle sides and little pawprints. Here is a yarn technique I have been dying to try that would be cute on top.

How about little fishies? Swimming along the sides or placed on top of cuppie.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm thinking about doing one fondant figurine of the cat surrounded by stuff like fishies, yarn, etc. I will post final result.

is it too late? there are cute examples here of cakes that look like a ball of yarn, you could do that with a fondant kitten playing with or on it.
