Hi guys, so i got an order for the Louis half opened chest cake and don't know how to do the open lid...how do i go about getting that open effect. i was going to use a 12" square cake for the chest. thanks
i did my first open lid box cake a few weeks ago - see my photos. it turned out well i think.
box itself was cake. lid was rkt - i pressed rkt into the same pan i used to make my cake as i wanted it the same size. let set. coated in candy melts. covered with fondant. placed dowels in cake, 6, at 3 increasing sizes. tried 4 first but it sagged a little, added the other 2 when i realized.
