I have a friend that wants a bible cake next weekend. She wants the cake frosted in butter cream and the sides of the cake (pages) to be gold. Can I frost my cake and let it crust and dust with gold luster dust or paint with gold fondant glaze? Which method would work best? I also have to make a three tiered wedding cake for the same day so I don't want to mess up the bible cake as I won't have time to start over. Thank you.

I have used the gold luster dust on a buttercream border, but not to make it totally gold. You definitely would need to let it crust really good. Here's the 50th Anniversary cake I did this for.

Good Luck!
