I made this recipe that called for 2 cups of Root-Beer and Root-Beer in the Butter-Cream .. The next day after having every done my son & I did the taste test ... All's my son said, nice moist chocolate cake & frosting is not bad either .. huge disappointment no root-beer taste in the cake or frosting ... I did the recipe right down to the last letter ... Grrrr I was .. I even used good root-beer ..

try using the root beer oil. they come in little tiny jars of different flavors. i used a couple of drops in a rootbeer cake that also called for the drink in the batter. but i tasted the batter and wasn't satisfied with the subtle taste. so i added the oil. huge difference!! i buy mine at a bulk food store called bulk barn. hth!

Easy recipe: 1 chocolate cake mix + 1 12oz can of rootbeer soda- no eggs, no oil. Just mix and soda. Bake at 350 and you will have a rootbeer cake!
