Hello,I have never used a scroll pattern before. This may sound elemetary but hey,First time. The instructions states to trace with a toothpick.Sounds simple enough.But.the pattern is thin.Do I cut alone the dark lines of the pattern, lay the patten on the cake and trace? Only solution I could come up with.Oh yea.I like this pattern and want to use it. Not experience enough yet to do my own.need more practice.

You can use piping gel and a #1 tube to trace pattern. After you get it traced place on your cake and lightly press the design onto the frosting. If you trace the front of the pattern it will be reversed, so trace the back or copy in reverse. Trace on wax paper over pattern. Work quickly so piping gel doesn't set before you press it on and do small area at a time. Do not make to thick of a line or it will be hard to cover it.

You can also use a corsage pin and poke holes along the pattern into the icing. Remove pattern and pipe as usual.
