hi everyone! how can i prevent my fondant covered cakes from cracking? i've used a 12-inch hummingbird cake on the bottom, and an 8-inch chocolate cake on top. i've used wooden skewers for support and it still cracked. any suggestions on how do go about this issue? thanks.

Do you have a picture of the cracking? Are your dowels tall enough to not let the top cake cardboard round put pressure on the bottom cake?
