Is it safe to use fresh stargazer lilies on a wedding cake? I have a friend who wants white and pink stargazer lilies on her wedding cake. I see pictures online but was wondering what you ladies and gents thought of using this flower. I know sometimes people use flowers they shouldn't. TIA.

They are extremely toxic if they are fresh , I always do them out of sugar they aren't that difficult a flower and you don't need many as they are quite large .

That's what I thought but I have found numerous cakes decorated with them online. My friend also wants me to make a bible cake for her daughter for the same day so I was looking for an easy option. I haven't made them before. Maybe I will try using artificial flowers.Thank you for the info.

You can normally make flowers quite a while in advance so if it is purely a time issue you could make them between now and then when you have time and just add them to the cake when it is iced.
