Royal Icing Or Color Flow Taste & Shine

Is there anyway to make royal icing shiny like Color Flow mix? If I used a little Karo syrup would it still harden?
Can extract or flavoring be added to improve the taste?

My royal does have a shine when it dries, but I use egg white royal and a warm lamp to dry, the faster it dries the nicer the shine. I haven't tried corn syrup but I know you can add a little flavoring to help the taste.
