I was wondering how long in advance can you put an edible image on a buttercream cake? I didn't know if it would absorb it after awhile or not?

Anyone?

Thanks in advance,

Vicki

I have placed an edible image on BC more than 24 hours before the cake was served and it was fine. It is important that the cake doesn't bend or shift because that will create cracks in the softened transfer. Hope that helps!

If I am ever worried about bleeding or need to put an edibel image on a cake very early I will always place the image on a thin piece of fondant/gumpaste/modeling chocolate.
