I have an idea where to start but wanted some feedback first. What size rounds would you use..It only has to feed about 20 so I figure the bottom layers maybe a 10 inch round and the tops 8 or 7 inch rounds. Then I can carve...will the cake collapse if I cut too deep into the mouth or should I make it more shallow?? Any tips would be appreciated!!

Oh Yeah....do you think I need to dowel it?

Hi Laurel,

That is an awesome cake I must say!

I would probably make some part of the cake with Rice krispies treats (nose and jaws), they are so easy to mold and cover with icing before adding the fondant and they hold very well.

I hope this helps.

cool cake. the mouth doesn't look like a deep cut. of course, you can go deeper, but i'd be at a loss as to why you'd want to, really.
