I am going to compete as a beginner in a cake contest and i don't know how to fill out the form. It asks what techniques I used and what mediums I used. What are considered techniques? What are considered mediums?

Thanks

Oh, so far it will be a tiered, sculpted cake, with mmf, bc, rkt, marzipan, isomalt gems, modeling chocolate, candy melts, gum paste, pastillage, and painted luster dust. All the colors are bold with use of paste, powder, and luster dust. Phew...I got my work cut out for me.

Mediums are the things you use for the cake. ie, fondant, buttercream, gumpastem rkt. Techniques are the methods you use ie sculpting, painting, molding, etc. Good luck!

ooh thanks for reminding me ... i still need to fill out my forms. sounds like you already listed out your mediums (media?). techniques would be like: stenciling, using molds, piping, flooding, um ... my heads a little fuzzy at the moment, someone else shout out some examples
