Does anyone have any tips on how to make a cake stronger? I know mixing too much or too little can mess with it. I almost always get lots of crumbles on mine. I see those cake shows on tv and there is not a crumb in sight! Its so dense and neat. How do you do that?

Im new to this too . I tried the WASC cake listed in the recipe section here and it turned out great . lovely and moist , dense enough for stacking . Tried the test cake out on friends and they loved it . I am using it for a Christening cake soon . GOOD LUCK !

The WASC is good pone to use - and also cutting with a hot knife helps, also. When I cut at wedding I use a HOT HOT HOT blade. Nice pretty cuts every time.... even with Red Velvet!!
