I made a batch of MMF and have colored it black. It's fairly pliable, but I can't get it to smooth out - you can see little cracks and spots where it won't smooth completely. I don't have Crisco on hand, only sweetex. I've tried adding a small amount but was afraid to add too much. Do I keep going with the sweetex???

Have you warmed it up in the microwave for 10-15 seconds and then kneaded it?

Try heating it in the microwave for 5 seconds. It should get softer and you can knead it more easily to remove any lumps.

Oooh...I haven't tried warming it up. Thank you both so much. I'll give it a whirl thumbs_up.gif

I have read from this site, that some add a little glycerine.

Rubbing a tiny bit a water may help, too. However, sometimes when I make dark colors, too much coloring will "break" it and there's no help for it.
