any good suggestions for a cupcake recipe book? The scratch cakes I use just don't seem to make very good cupcakes (they dont seem to bake with a nice dome) Any good recipe books out there? thanks
Might not be the recipes, but the baking techniques:

I read somewhere on here, to preheat oven to 400, then put cup cakes in and bake a few (honestly I forgot how long..I just bake about 5-10 min) and then reduce heat for the remainder of cooking time. It works for me. I read this and then accidentally tried it out now I always try to use this method. HTH
I agree with JanH. Any good scratch recipe will make a good cupcake. The baking technique needs to be altered. I also use top rated pans. Cheap (and dark) pans will not give a good result.
But if you still want a book recommendation , I have Crazy About Cupcakes by Krystina Castella. The decorating ideas are a little lame (OK, a lot) but it has lots of interesting recipes for both cupcakes and frostings and a whole section on flavor combinations that I look at a lot, even for cakes.
thanks for the recommendation! I am not too worried about the decorating, just looking for some recipes! thanks you
