Not sure if any of you have heard of Icing Smiles, but I thought I'd take the time to "plug" it here! Icing Smiles is a non-profit organization that provides custom made celebration cakes for children who are battling serious illnesses at no charge to the family. I have the pleasure of being a volunteer baker, and this weekend I got my first cake. I made a turtle cake for a 6 year old boy who is celebrating the completion of chemotherapy. I love the way it turned out and the best part is knowing that I can use my talents to brighten a child's life who has had a rough go at life.
