Thanks SweetAudrey.

TryingCake - I used to have the problem with the dreadful bulge when I 1st started decorating and it was so frustrating trying to figure out why. Alas, after trial and error and doing everything I thought was right, it ended up being by BC and not making the dam stiff enough. I've since used Edna's BC recipe off her website, designmeacake.com and for the dam, add enough PS to it so you can roll a snake out of it with your hands and place it about a 1/4" from the edge.

Plus, let the cakes settle - let them settle for a couple hours or overnight after baking, let them settle again after being covered in BC to develop a nice crust...give the cakes time to just settle (tile or no tile). Haven't had another bulge since (crossing my fingers).

Please keep asking questions...we all learn everyday for others just from asking.
