Hi, Will a plain french vanilla cake with no filling be just too plain for a four year old's birthday party? The baker wants extra $$$ for filling and it is becoming too expensive for me. Would a chocolate cake with no filling be yummier? It is a rolled fondant cake. Suggestions please! Thanks.

id find another baker! most dont charge extra for fillings, its built in to the cost to begin with!
however, i dont think the children will notice or care, there will be more than enough sugar, and icing on top.

maybe the baker could use icing instead of filling? at least that way there would be something in the middle...
