I am making this 2.5 ft tall buddha cake for a wedding (non-religious) and I need help on how to build a support system for it. I would like the arm how it is in the photo also. Any ideas??
Also should I make the head from Styrofoam?? or something else?
Last question.. its going to be airbrushed a gold/bronze colour. Should i airbrush it with a brown first, then go over it in gold??

I would use the white pvc pipes from the hardware store and secure it to a mdf or other hard base...you could also use copper pipes, and bend one coming out to be the hand.

You don't really need to do brown before the gold as you need the gold to cover it completely (solid coverage, not just a highlight of it), and it will just be a waste of the brown. If you weren't doing it metallic, it would be different, but the gold should cover the same with it being white under.

You could make the head styrofoam or rkt...something to lighten it up because it looks like it will be heavy.

hope this helps...can you post pics when you are done? Looking forward to it!
