Happy Holidays CakeCentral- What books and/or DVDs do you recommend for new/novice bakers? I do this as a much loved hobby and need some tips as I work to consistently bake good cakes as well as decorate them with impressive design work. Thanks
I just got 3 of the Zambito DVD's for Christmas and I can't wait to break them open! She's awesome!
The Cake Art DVD by The Culinary Institute of America is one I plan to order.

The book is listed on Amazon and there is a review of this DVD listed there.
Toba Garrett has the The Well-Decorated Cake and, if you can afford it, Professional Cake Decorating. I got an absolute deal at a Goodwill store on the Professional Cake Decorating book. The book is awesome. A person could literally teach themselves to decorate cakes from that book. She has "lessons" the whole way through with exercises. Even the writing, she has several different styles of writing on pages for you to practice.
