I'm sure this has been asked, but oh well, here it goes. My family just got me the Cricut Cake Mini for Christmas and I know absolutely nothing about it. Where is the best place to buy supplies? What's the best medium to use? What are frosting sheets? Any tips, tricks, ideas, etc. would be absolutely wonderful. Thank you all in advance for your help.
Congrats, love mine. I actually use my own MMF and add gumpaste.. work it together really well and after I roll it out on the mat, let it sit for a bit to firm up.. mades some great cut outs..Enjoy
I am not sure where to buy things other than additional cartridges which I get on ebay since it is cheaper.
I got one too, and I am excited to use it! Jo Ann's carries all of the supplies you will need, including the frosting sheets. Frosting sheets are like colored pieces of edible paper.
Thanks, guys! I'm so lost. I have no idea of what to do with it. I know they were being nice, but I'm a bit intimidated by it.
Here is a coupon you can use at hobby lobby or Joann's (they honor michael's and hobby lobby coupons) I always print out any I can use before I go...

You usually cant use the coupons on the cricut but I did use them on a mat and some frosting sheets.
Thanks, guys! I've been trying to research on it all day. The video that came with it really did help me understand it a bit better.
Can you use ANY Cricut cartridge with the Cricut Cake Mini? Or do you have to only use Cricut Cake cartridges?
Thanks.
My furry four legged 9 month old daughter Dizzy got me one for Christmas. She's such a good kid. I can't wait to try it out this week.
There's some good info on this thread for all the cricut machines http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-700374-.html&sid=e78fc25b60a721244d309b572ea6a280
