Do I need a heating core for 12 x 3" pan or will 3-4 flower nails work?

i dont' use either one ... just reduce my temp and use baking strips. I dont' use nails or cores on my 16" pans nor on the 14x22 pan that I had.

I realise that by now you most likely have finished your baking but I agree with Debi. I never use either in my baking lg cakes.
After reading on here (& other sites) about using flower nails I sometimes will use on in my 16"ers but generally I have baked 100s w/o any.
