I'm trying to plan my first open house for a newly launched 'cake' side of a cupcake shop that has been open for a while. I'm focusing mainly on the cakes at this open house and I'm targeting a higher end clientele.

Other than some of the cake flavors, what else should I serve? Lemon water to cleanse the palate, or maybe some fruit or something? I want it to be nice and elegant, so I'm willing to go the extra mile here. Any other ideas to make this event a stand out? It's something that I'll consider doing annually.

Instead of lemon water, consider having an "attendant" at a table scooping lemon sorbet into portion cups with tiny tasting spoons.

Champagne. Makes people think of weddings.
