Im shopping for food coloring i have wilton now & I find them very good, I hear alot about Americolor
so which one is better ??
TIA
Oh, that's the easiest question ever! Americolor is so much better. It doesn't crystallize like Wilton does if you don't use it fast enough. Buy Americolor whenever you can.
My only problem with Americolor is that I could really taste it. I dyed my cake mixture with it to make a rainbow cake and it had a distinct metallic taste. Not pleasant.
I agree with everyone else! I have both, but I only use the Wilton ones as back up in case I run out of Americolor.
thank you for all the replies
loool while I was reading them i felt like a commercial playing, you guys are good!
so Americolor it is
I see somebody beat me to the post that Hobby Lobby carries it now... now wish somebody local would supply Tylose!! Or high-ratio shortening!!
travmand, where are you, that you have Hobby Lobby, but no Hi ratio shortening?
That's pretty common here. The only local hi-ratio shortening I could get was to order it or go to one place that carries CK brand and it was not good at all. Once I started my business, a local commercial supplier carries Sweetex and I was soooo excited.

Some Hobby Lobby's carry high ratio???!!! I had no idea. I'm mentioning it next time I'm there. I'm in Southern Wisconsin (Janesville Hobby Lobby). It's a 45 minute drive down to Rockford, IL or mail order if I want it. Same with Tylose.
